TD's blue and white hooded rat, Merry, after Tolkiens Lord of the Rings TD's one month old black rex rat with a white tipped tail, named Samwise after Tolkiens The Lord of the Rings trilogy

Yes... I know... *lol* I've said time and time again that I would never have rats again. As much as I absolutely love their intelligence, and their personalities, their life span is just too difficult to handle. It is too hard to lose a much loved pet after only a year or two together. However, I'm also a huge sucker. *lol*

When I found out these three beautiful boys would end up as snake food, I just couldn't let that happen. I do understand the need for feeders, and I know by saving these boys that some others will take their place... but knowing I had the chance to save these three I had to take them in.

So now I have three baby boy rats, and I'm so happy they're here. As much as I've protested against having rats again, now that they are here, I realized just how much I missed keeping these sweet little rodents.

So, without further ado.
I'd like to introduce the ratlets:
- Smeagol, Samwise, and Merry -

Merry is a total sweetie. He is a little timid, but his curiosity often gets the better of him.
Merry is a total sweetie. He's the "middle child", and is definitely the shiest of the group. Though a little timid, his curiosity often gets the better of him.

Smeagol is definitely the boss rat. He is a cuddler though, and loves to investigate anything that's in his way.
Smeagol is the oldest of the three, and while he'll play with the others, he also has no problem with pushing them out of the way and taking what's "his".

Samwise is a total baby doll. He's the youngest (by several months), and lives to pounce on and wrestle with his brothers.

Smeagol is a PEW, double rex, rat. He's a hairy hairless. Even his whiskers are curly - which is just too cute.

Just look at these two cutie pie rats. *lol* I may be biased, but I think they're pretty adorable.

Here's little Samwise. Isn't he precious? He's a black rex with a white belly and white tipped tail. I just love his plush curly coat.

Smee's just checking out his new home, investigating every nook and cranny. I think he approves of the "ratquarium"... an adapted 33 gallon aquarium.

Look at this little cutie pie? He's just the cutest baby rat I've ever seen.

Could I have adopted three cuter kids? I think not.
